I’m a little perturbed, on the white peacocks’ behalf, that the post about them [16th Nov.] seemed to go unnoticed.
They are not used to this lack of ‘ooh/aaah’ attention.
I don’t understand their attention-seeking behaviour, but I do have a grudging respect for their vanity.
Hence this second post in one day – silly really, but I think they were a little hurt by the lack of commentary.

Oooh! Aaaah!
I didn’t know such things existed.
Neither did I until I saw the ad. I’ve had them for nearly a year now – 3 of them. There were 4 but there was a dog incident. They are much shyer than the regular peacocks but, paradoxically, they do seem to strike poses all the time as if waiting for a proper photographer!
If it makes you, and the peahens, feel any better, they were the fowl of choice when I showed pics to keely, wil and Oakley (nieces/nephews). Let them know I think they are special indeed.
Welcome back to WA! I will tell the whiteys tomorrow morning.
Beautiful and elegant! Do White Peacocks fan their tail feathers?
Yes – one of the 3 must be a male because he does it all the time!
Holly cow, I have never seen a white peacock! Do you have a pic of it’s feathers all spread out. I am sure there is a word for that. I can understand how vanity can come into play. I mean look at that crown!
I’m glad I posted this reminder because obviously the original post re white peacocks went unnoticed and they were mightily miffed!
I’ll find a pic of the fantail thing but the male is still an adolescent so not that impressive yet!
Magnificent!
I’ll convey your message to them – ha!
Wow…..I never knew there was such a thing as a white peacock. Lovley shots of them. Almost looks like they’re in wedding dresses. I’m amazed. They sure are beautiful. I must have missed their 16th Nov post.
It must take ages to feed all your birds (or do they mostly scratch around in the grass & groundlitter for worms etc)?
Yes, aren’t they amazing. I think white peacocks must be quite rare so I am lucky to have found some. Re feeding, they mostly fend for themselves on grass and I just fill various containers with wheat and laying pellets. Water is the main worry especially with summer coming. I am getting a pond dug this week.
They’re lovely—so oooohhhhh!

Hi Julie,
The white peafowls are quite beautiful! For your followers that are intrigued by the lack of color I have an interesting article that may explain the why.

Great post you have my dear!
Thank you very much for the link!
I’ve just read your post on leucism – how fascinating. I thought they were a special breed so it’s interesting to find out that this is a condition. Of course it they were in the wild they wouldn’t stand a chance because they can’t camouflage. Thanks again for the interesting information!
