All of the garden is strewn with feathers shed by the birds, so much so that it resembles a Canadian autumn and/or a snow storm. Beautiful, yes. Messy, yes. A milliner’s paradise, yes!
I keep on losing that feather in my cap – actually I keep losing the cap itself! I’m sure I’ll find both of them tomorrow and, in doing so, find my way back to Husband and Son in a way that replaces sadness with joy.
Zero seems a good place to start.

Saying a prayer for you.
Hope the feather’s a magic talisman and sways you in the right directions.
Me too!
My husband would love that – all those feathers lying around. Perfect for tying flies for fly fishing.
Tell him to bring me some of those fish!
That would be a fair trade.
It sure would!
You need to get away from the house for a few hours. Just you time. Maybe a spa visit! Remember you must put your first to be a better mom and wife. Sounds funny right? I fought that saying for years but one day I gave in and took a me day no animals no bills no worries and did it. The next day I felt great. From that point on I decided to make sure I got out and away from life’s stresses at least once a month. I want this for you too.
You are so right and so wise! Thank you so much for this suggestion – I have to go to bed now but am gonna digest your words properly tomorrow. It is so lovely to hear from you again, so come on – where’s your next post?
Replaces sadness with joy ! You know that your birds are helping you to “meditate” , feel understand & feel the blessings of being alive .. Many ppl stand still, feeling nothing & more neither stand nor notice !
You are right!
I think we all keep loosing our feather Julie..and sometimes the whole cap too. Deep breaths, some “me time” as was suggested above, and with that – lots of self-love is my prescription. I will join you in this work. We will get there! xo
You are very kind and wise – thank you!
It’s exhausting, isn’t it, Julie? 😦
Yes, you know….
