My ma wrote this for me this morning!
Destiny.
You could have been born
in the slums of Djakarta
or Windsor Castle
or the child of a Cult
or blind
become a rock star
or an astronaut
or Mother Teresa
You could have been
A suburban housewife
Or an inventor
Or an athlete.
You could have discovered gold
Or been a surrogate mother
Or a member of ABBA
Or scavenged for food
On the rubbish heaps in India
You could have been a boy. Or a twin,
Or disabled or a concert pianist
You might have
Become a drug addict
Or climbed Mt Everest
Or saved the gorillas
Or joined the Hitler Youth
You may have been born in Israel or Bethlehem
Before Jesus’ time
Before the dinosaurs
You might have been Eve.
But you are Julie.
And
“All the days ordained for me
Were written in your book
Before one of them came to be.”

how beautiful…………………
I am lucky!

Wonder piece of writing loved it, I was moved so by it…………
She’s a pretty great mother!
So creative writing runs in the family. Very beautiful.
Yes, but she doesn’t write as well as I do – hahahahahaha!!!!
Patience. Maybe she’s just getting warmed up.
Ha!
Oh my — your Mom is brilliant – and this just touched my heart deep!!!! ~ You must have smiled wide Julie… Give your Mom a kiss for me 🙂
She and I rarely clash in our opinions and she is 99.9% absolutely beyond belief in her goodness to me. I wish I could be as good to her.
I am certain you are mighty good to her as well… she sounds like the perfect mom for you Julie — so happy to know this…
I love Ming the way she loves me.
That make perfect sense – and is really beautiful!
Sure is!
She is a little bit special!!!!!!!
She is!
Very moving – quite a mother 😉
That is wonderful!
How wonderful
I am a lucky daughter!
awww wise lady – I like your Ma!
I like her too!
This is absolutely wonderful, in its joyful sentiments and pride of who you are, and has got me thinking about many things.
She really is such an inspiration to me – much more energetic and lively and gregarious than I will ever be.
Can I adopt her, please?
Barb.
No, you may borrow her if you like but she’s expensive.
wow- what better accolades can one get – and it is a bonus that this came from your mother –I see the creativity acorn has not fallen far from the tree
Yes – I am lucky!
Lovely, thoughtful, and wise…You are blessed.
I am.
Wow. So words flow through the family tree. Talented, and touched by spirit, too.
Looks like he’s making a great recovery. Of course, with a grandmother and a mother like you two for support, it’s kind of like, uh, der.
Yes he is well and truly out of that brace now!
What a special poem!
Yes – I was warmed to the bone!
