Eventually… magic!

on January 21, 2012

Eventually, our two white peacocks will do this! At the moment, they are only teenagers so it might be another year or so before their tail feathers grow long enough for them to do this fantail thing. I can’t wait!

Magic!

    Hi,
Wow, they are gorgeous, so stunning in the white, I have never before seen this only with the coloured peacocks of course, I bet you can’t wait for your peacocks to give a display like this.

Teenagers…. It reminds me what Dawn French said in her book, “Dear Fatty”:
“….teenagers are selfish little buggers, who are, for all their faults, the point of our lives, the basic underpinning of our reason for being here. They are what has made us different and better. They are the leaven that has raised us up from being the selfish big buggers we were before they came along……….we realize they are vital and amazing, and we HAVE to be annoyed by them because any minute now they will be gone. If we still over-loved them like it was easy to do when they were teeny, the inevitable separation would be so traumatic we would surely collapse and die from utter grief. This way, their behaviour forces us to create a distance, to slacken the ties and allow the disconnection. Let it happen now, so that the eventual uncoupling is gentler, not so much of a heart breaking tear. They will still be moored to us, just by a long, long rope.” M.L.

They look stunning with their feathers displayed like the blue peacocks. They remind me of brides in the full white finery.
Can’t wait to see your photos of your own white peacocks when they’re old enough.
