This is not a spectacular photo but who cares because I have FINALLY taken a picture of the wild birds here – one blink and I would have missed this.
In Year 2, a new kid arrived in the town and was plonked next to Son in the classroom – a bright, white-haired little boy. Blinks were exchanged. A rather thunderous friendship began….
Sunset reckons a better photo could be taken of Thunder. Son thinks I’m a galah.
One blink, two blinks, three blinks….

four bliks tadah
Funny you!
four blinks that should have been
Thought so!
Those wild birds look like Galahs (Cacatua roseicapilla) from the back. They are such a pretty bird. I’ve never seen one here in Victoria – guess they live in the countryside (not the city).
I always get a thrill when I photograph a wild bird, so know how you feel
Yes they are galahs and I had a bit in the post about them but it somehow got lost when I hit ‘publish’!
Also prevalent in the wilds of Floreat… Galahs that is, and not just the ones in cargo shorts and boatie shoes……my Father called them Papagalas (sic) (which supposedly is Italian for same??)
You are wonderful!
