Due to the interest shown in doudou’s bird sculptures I herewith copy/paste a more direct link to her site http://doudoubirds.com/
I have never met doudou in person, so have only gotten to know her via the blogosphere but, ever since she made these emus for me, I have followed her work and her blog. Sorry, doudou, if you didn’t want the attention!
I think you can see from the pictures of my very first emu (Emery, who got killed by a fox, which devastated all of us), that doudou’s sculptures do a pretty good job of replicating the real thing.

I love all your animal friends…the really do look like the ones I visited at the farm this week. 🙂
Yes, that’s what I thought too!
Love those emus!! Will have to revisit her blog!!
Yes! She’s travelled lately but is making a home in a new place and still sculpting but having a few internet issues I think.
Here it’s the raccoons and minks that get into the bird pens and kill them. So sad to lose birds, especially those cute emus.
Oh it was a terrible day – that fox got Emery (the one pictured) and two newer emu chicks in broad daylight – we were all sitting outside and didn’t hear a thing but one minute the emus were with us and the next …
Nice little emus–they do look like your real ones!
Yes, even their facial expressions!
Thanks Jules, doudou is so talented!! These are just exquisite. I know some bird-watcher (love) relatives of mind would flip over them. Compliments to the artist!
You should see her website – wow!
I reckon she is brilliant!
Awwwww…I absolutely love it. What a great sculptor she is indeed! 🙂
That is such a gorgeous photo of you and Emery. Oh, they do capture a person’s heart fully, don’t they? Such lovely photo’s and thanks for sharing hon. 🙂
*hugs*
You’re welcome!
Oh my! They are so cute as ‘chicks.’ Now I really want one!!!

Yeah but they get BIG!
Big is good!
I agree!
The baby emus are gorgeous! So stripy! I bet they were a handful. It must have been devastating to lose them. And the sculptures are amazing.
It was terrible to lose them – thankyou so much for your comment!
That reminds me. I need to head on out to the mailbox to see if my doudou birds have flown in.
Which birds are you getting?
