We are experiencing a cyclonic storm beyond anything I have ever seen before. The electricity has just come on after 24 hours but I don’t think it will last so this is just a quick post. I think the storm has hit a lot of Western Australia. Very frightening.
Power on? Great! None here in relative suburbia of course! Finish defrosting your fridge! X
Is yours on yet? I don’t think this electricity will last so off to get candles and torch batteries etc.
Keep safe, Julie.
It’s terrifying – trees down everywhere. Power will probably go out again any minute so am trying to catch up. I have pretty much deleted all emails (over 100 argh) so I can cope when everything is working again – worse storm predicted for tomorrow – I have never seen anything like this in my life. The main wattle tree the peacocks sleep in has been totally uprooted and fallen down and it’s a huge tree! Gotta go!
I just saw on the news that some areas will be without electricity for a week. A very violent storm. Hope your birds are all OK, Julie.
I have a new respect for the weather!
Thinking of you and sending prayers you all remain safe.
Thank you Rhonda! Jx
Thinking of you! Stay safe xx
Thanks CC! Jx
Thinking of you and crossing fingers and toes that you don’t suffer any worse damage. Nothing more frightening than storms with that power. Hope all animals/birds/humans stay safe.
Apparently there is another storm coming tonight – argh!
Hi,
I was reading about the storms you are having over there in the paper, they said that some homes will be without electricity for a few days, a lot of trees fell onto the power lines all over the place, Please keep as safe as possible.
There are 60,000 people without power at the moment.
Here is the latest about the storm with some pictures as well from The West newspaper.

Just put this link on latest post – it has been terrifying!
Hope everything is okay?
Okayish!

I think we are going to need it!
I’m glad you came through it.
So am I! Thank you.
Be safe and I hope all is well.
Thanks TBM! Jx
Glad you’re fine though….
Me too!
Stay safe…eeks!
It was eeks all right!
Praying for you, be safe!
Thanks – all okay now I think!
Post something when you’re safe
Safe so far!
Glad to hear it, stay safe and my prayers and positive energy are with you.
Not sure if I already told you but today I got into your blog and saw that I was a follower but I couldn’t find where to actually subscribe via email…?
Apart from that, thanks Katrina! Jx
Good luck with the storm!
You live in Australia? Oh I WISH I LIVED THERE!
You wouldn’t want to be here now – ha!
🙂 Want to bet?
Hehe!
I have ALWAYS wanted to live in either Australia or New Zealand. I have relatives in both countries.
I like the “variety” of Australia – desert, country, city, etc. I also like the fact that parakeets travel in groups in Australia. They don’t here!
I could list other reasons, but… you catch my drift! 🙂
Come on over!
I wish.
Take care. Hope everyone is safe!
OK – thankyou!!
terrible, where are the birds while this is going on..mercy.. ok off you go and be terribly careful.. c
So far, so good but another storm is coming – yikes!
I hope your family and the birds will all be okay. Storms are very scary, especially when tees come down.
Thank you so much – all okay for the moment.
Stay safe!!! Keep us posted.
Just wrote an update post!
good luck and take care
Thank you – we are okay and so are all our neighbours thank God!
oh good – I am so glad – it must have been scary
Terrifying!
OMG – Julie — is son home with you? Evacuation plans? So scary – we have had hurricanes this year and needed to evacuate. Natural disasters are so mysterious and frightening. Please keep us up to date. I’m sending prayers and love.
Thanks Robyn – storm has abated temporarily and we are safe. Juliexx
thank goodness!! was worried 😦 Hope it does not recur?!!
Another one predicted for tonight – quite exciting, sort of!
I do know what you mean by exciting… when we were evacuated there was a rush to the whole scary thing… just stay safe!!!
Yikes! Saying a prayer for you. Stay safe.
Thanks – we are okay at the moment!
(I’ll try this again…) Stay safe, Julie honey. Sending prayers your way.
Hope you are safe.
Thanks – so far!
We had a very severe storm in Scotland on January 3rd this year with gusts of 160mph.
I was going to work and was terrified I was going to get blown away.
I ended up clinging to a lamp post while waiting for my lift to work. The power went out at 07.30 and did not get restored until 20.48 the same evening.
It was terrifying.
That sounds awful – this was very much like what you describe but unfortunately another storm is looming.
Oh dear keep safe, Love you, nia
Okay at the moment but it was really scary!
Mother Nature has a dark side. Hope the storm blows over (or through) pretty fast, and everything’s still in one piece. We have a basement, and when tornadoes are bopping around Indiana, I’m always grateful it’s there.
Bopping tornadoes – ha! We don’t have basements in this country unfortunately!
Be safe!!!
Thank you – okay at the moment!
Stay safe! Thinking about y’all.
It’s such a little old house – thanks Jo! Okay for the moment but another storm coming – argh!
Sending you positive thoughts. Hope everyone is safe.
Thanks – so far, so good!
Hang in there, hoping you all escape unscathed!
So do I! Worse is coming apparently.
One of the several reasons why I moved away from the Gulf Coast in the U.S. Just too many hurricanes each year.
