I don’t know why but I am, once again, receiving all of the comments made on the blogs I subscribe to, so I have contacted the WordPress help people to stop this because the inundation of email notifications has been overwhelming and in the end I had to keep deleting so please forgive me if I accidentally deleted you blog post.
But, in the interests of not wanting to waste a post on blogging glitches, I do have a couple of questions for more seasoned bloggers:
1. I would like to ‘reblog’ three of my previous posts to give a bit of historical context to what is happening now. Is that an okay thing to do?
2. My spam often contains ‘trackbacks’ – are these the same as ‘pingbacks’ and should I accept both? Also, can anyone tell me what both of these things mean? This would also be useful for novice bloggers.
3. Sorry, I can’t remember what my last question was!

1. You can whatever you like on your own blog – curse, swear, post nude peacock photos, whatever……..in fact, you can reblog the last 3 posts as well. LOL
2. I would delete everything in your spam queue where you don’t know the author when these funny hiccoughs occur on WordPress……I think its safer. That’s what I do. I just hope any genuine item that is not spam is written by a kind understanding person who accepts that I’m a Dingbat when it comes to Computer Technology & WordPress technology.
3. I have ESP, but even my powers can’t work any distance over 500kms from Melbourne.
Good Luck with the WordPress probs.
You are so great! Okay, next posts are going to be full of nude peacocks. Love your ESP!
Nude peacocks! Here we go with the porn again! What’s next? Poetry? A pingback is when someone followed the link from the person you got the trackback from. I bet that cleared things up, huh? Let’s say, just for fun, I reblog this article on my blog. You’ll get a trackback notice. If someone then opens that article, you’ll get a pingback notice. I just ignore these notices. All it means is that someone else is gettting traffic on their blog courtesy of your article, which I don’t like, so I don’t like it when people reblog my stuff, but I don’t care, nor should anyone care, if you reblog you’re own stuff. And being all knowing, the third question will just be our secret. 😉
Thank you for your enlightened and enlightening comment – I feel much lighter – ha!
Oh great…another mature content site I have to warn my readers about. Julie Goyder, the bird pornographer!! What’s next? Llama love? Jeez. 😆
Oh wait…scratch the Llama love….Alpaca d’amore? there, that’s better.
Oh no – now I am guffawing!
guffawing! ha! i LOVE that sound!
My guffaw is rather loud – can you hear it?
absofuckinglutely and it’s grand!
Those two words are incompatible – one is obscene and the other is posh. Oh Rhonda!
hey…it’s Waldo time Julie. What is wrong with being obscenely posh? I ask you…not a darn thing! And apologies to your more tender readers…you may have to put a mature warning on my comments!
Stuff the more tender readers – hahahahaha!
I adore you!
rofl (you remember what that means right)
it’s mutual
rofl = ridiculous ongoing f%&*&ing love?
well alrighty then…that works too! better even. rofl
ha! thanks for giving me a laugh tonight – am off to bed now…
sleep well. cya tomorrow
ok
You certainly know how to provide a laugh!
You give way to much material to ignore Jules! You tickle my muse!
You do have a way with words!
well i should hope so, otherwise you’d all be staring at a blank page and my stats would go to shit! 😉
I have no opinion or advice but wanted to leave a comment anyway….. 🙂
Well that’s nice of you but not particularly useful (just kidding around – sorry!)
no need for sorry – thanks for my morning laugh!
The time difference is so weird for me – I am in evening and you are in morning – thank YOU for your wonderful blog friendship, Diana! jx
back at ya! I really have grown to appreciate you xo

1. Reblog away – I am going to do it soon, because the stuff I wrote until May did not get much attention because I did not know how to draw attention to my blog – so historical context is an even better reason.
2. wondered this too
3. your 3rd question was: should I get the tequila with or without the worm?
No worm required!
I have reblogged a few of my own posts. I don’t see a problem. As for the spam, I have only twice since I started blogging found posts that were from honest people in there. One was a friend, and one a stranger. The rest of that stuff is trying to sell you something or offend your sensibilities!!! So I say, “Just dump it.” ~ Lynda
Spot on!
i reblog postings that didn’t receive much of anything. i think u can only reblog one time per same post . give it a try, and nude birds??? i want a male companion in my life but i don’t know about a male bird!!! LOLOL
The nude bird idea did not come from me – hehe!
i know, i read all the comments, but it is a funny vision in my head!!! lol
You all are hysterically funny and now that I have pulled myself up off the floor, and cleaned out my ever so virgin ears (Rhonda “-) I have to ask, has anyone ever figured out what Super Awesome Post is??
I have never heard of a Super Awesome Post but unfortunately the acronym would be SAP
1.) I don’t usually like reblogs, but I would not be offended if you explained what you were doing. 2.) You can find the answer about trackbacks and ping backs here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Introduction_to_Blogging
I tried to read it, but it made no sense to me. 3.) Yes
Your third answer was ingenious!
1. Really, I think there are very few new readers who cruise the archives. I only make a reference to a previous blog and sometimes a link. I figure if they want the background, they’ll find it.
2. I don’t know and don’t care.
3. I don’t know either.
🙂
Good thinking – thanks!
I have had that happen a couple of times then it just stopped no idea why it started or why it stopped……………..lol Today my computer is running slow and that is pissing me off……..lol
Julia, your blog is an exstention of you … do what ever you love to do. Seen many bloggers reblogging posts from their past. Just do what ever you want to do,. This spam I don’t really understand and what I seen so far is that it’s all a load of nonenes and I delete them all.
Regarding all emails from the blogs we follow, it’s impossible to answer every new post – and if a post has been deleted is it not the end of the world, there will be a new one next day. Blogging should be fun and not a burden.
Yes, wise Viveka – blogging should be fun – thank you for this! Juliexx
Julia, my pleasure … we shouldn’t take it to serious and try too hard with this blogging – we need real life too.
You are right!
Looks like everyone has answered your questions so accept my moral support instead 🙂
I’m laughing at the first comment, that by victoriaaphotography. I wanna see pictures of nude peacocks………..lol
Yes – I’ll see what I can do!
