Good news!

on August 2, 2012

A beautiful little girl who everyone has been praying for has, after so many long months, finally been declared cancer-free.

The friend who had the car accident, and has been in a coma, has opened his eyes.

Arthur (the old man who lived in the old hut at the back of our farm) has recovered from a stint in hospital and has been accepted permanently in a nursing home where he is adored.

Ming and I have accomplished a lot of housy/farmy tasks together with very little strife.

Anthony answered the phone.

[Note: I have repeated the most important good news items].

Great news, especially the first two items, but the other good news items are really just as important – just important in a different way.

Life’s a mystery and why some people survive trauma and some do not, will remain a mystery forever.

Oh Robyn, that little girl, who just turned 5, has has an incredibly horrible illness journey with cancer. Not quite the end yet because she still has something wrong with her bowel but her last scan indicated the cancer was gone so everyone is celebrating. She is the granddaughter of my mother’s best friend – only a couple of farms away from where we live. Hope you are okay – what is happening? Mabye we should email each other? Love J

I have been sitting here looking at your words above and wondering what the hell I could say to help and realizing that your hellish health is beyond most people’s imaginations – so the only thing I can do is to pray and, even though I let that whole prayer thing lapse over the years, I have re-learned it – to pray again – for you.

Thanks yo so much Julie…you are an angel person. I am sure of it ~ xo

I cannot stand to think of you in pain. Are you okay tonight? Sorry, it’s night here.
I’m going to bed but juligoyder@gmail will get me out of bed if it’s you. Whenever you need to.

It’s almost 11 am here. You go to sleep … I am just starting to function minimally. Just seems so many broken parts I feel very out of control with pain and disability. Keep trying to escape with the writing stuff but ?? Silly/sexy post for the weekend.
May not be able to keep this up though. Thanks for being there Julie… you have enough on your plate — but nice to know we are both holding each other’s hearts. xo Sleep well ~ love, R

Fantastic! Yes, it can be a crazy, screwed up world. But it can also be pretty great.
