Would you PLEASE wipe your boots before coming in! Oh look at this mess and I’ve just vaccuumed.
Will you ever remember to put your dirty dishes on the sink instead of leaving them on the table?
Do NOT feed the dogs in the morning. How many times do I have to tell you? Look how fat they’re getting!
You keep rebelling against me and it causes these catastrophes between us.
Our communication problem wouldn’t exist if you didn’t keep on breaking the rules.
There will be no more eating or drinking in the car – do you understand?
Look at your room! It’s appalling. When are you going to sort yourself out?
It’s about time you got OFF your bum and away from that computer don’t you think!
Do you understand the meaning of teamwork or do I have to explain it to you all over again?
If you ate proper meals, you would not have this disgusting midnight snack habit.
All of the above have been uttered by Ming to me.
Out of the mouths of babes ……!!!!!

Ha, ha. Sure had me fooled.
It’s ridiculous – I am now getting quite nervous of him!
I am hysterical … reading it I wondered who said what to whom (hope that’s correct English) … and to see at the end that dear Ming was the ‘nagger” — What a pip! He’s a cutie – as I’ve said… and so are you… as I’ve said… xxoo Hugs Julie
So glad you got a laugh out of this – talk about parent/child role reversal!
So funny I am reading along thinking, I am going to be a smart alec and write “And you said what to Ming?”
Now who is the smart alec, and who is smart?
He’s a brilliant kid Jules. When you’re feeling down remind yourself what a great job you & your Anthony did raising him together. You both did so awesome!
He is definitely a funny boy. It was only this morning that he said that thing about me rebelling and I couldn’t stop laughing at his stern face!
Well, as the old saying goes, “Paybacks are hell!” And of course, we could add, “Perspective is everything”. But I think what I would say is, “Thank goodness you’ve got one who cares enough to nag.” That’s what they always told us when our mums and dads gave us the business!
I’m not sure where he got the nagging thing from because I never did it to him!
i think i have said almost everyone of those statements over my years……lol
I pity his future wife!
maybe this is why i am divorced………..but at least now i have learned many things about perfectionist. it is worthless, we can never be perfect, but i always tried
Can’t believe I get nagged by my teenage son – lol!
there are a lot of nags out in the world, including our kids to our faces………………..i don’t know about you, but there was a time when parents were taught the new phase, of being your child’s friend and not parent, i was the parent, but my kids nagged me, but waited until they were grown
It’s so weird isn’t it when your own kids tell you off!
Ouch! Love the face-to-face. Even in heals, I couldn’t reach my guys like that.
Haha!
oh that is so funny
The irony is I never nagged him!
I love the shoe on the other foot- or whatever the heck that saying is!
I should have used that for the post title!
but that would have given away the surprise ending
you are right!
haha! That was totally unexpected! I did not expect to read that Ming was saying that to you!
He can be unbearably anal!
What goes around comes around? But I see you said no. I like the photo
I was on my tiptoes standing up to the brat!
Ha Ha I love it.You have moxie.
What is moxie?
In was going to use the word “gumption” which I realize means the same:bold, energetic initiative;courage to act.”Moxie” is US slang for spirit or courage; pluck.
Another new word for me – thanks!
So that’s the secret to keeping me on my toes!!! I need a teenager! LOL!
~ Lynda
You may borrow him any time you want!
When I was reading it, I so pictured Ming saying those things, not you… And I was right! Very funny!
Aha – so far you are the only one who guessed it!
And here I was about to say …”Ag Ma, get off his back..” now how do I get a message to him..? “Ag Ming, get off Ma’s back, relax she will learn when she grows up, till then clean up after her..” lol… my kids do the same to me… I just ignore them….
And do you know I have never said any of those things to him!
Now that’s the sign of a good Mother….lol
It seems extraordinary that a spoilt brat of a kid who has never been made to do anything has suddenly become some sort of army major!
We’ve heard of not swearing in front of the children, but not being able to nag for fear of it being returned is priceless 😀
I retaliate by calling him Princess Ming!
The children always become the parents but Ming has started early 🙂
Yes he is a pain in the xxxxx
Priceless, but let’s face it, Julie, someone’s got to keep you in line now that Ants is lving away from home.
I think Ming is absolutely amazing………….. (but heaven help his future wife).
Yes, that poor future wife!
Who is the daddy .. here ????? Wonder where he have learned all that. *smile – but very cute of him to bother.
Not cute at all – he is an absolute pain in the ass!
Maybe it’s payback time …. *smile!
Yeah but I never ever nagged him – argh!
So where has he got that gene from????? Poor girl that ever falls in love with him. A nagging male is worse than a female.
He didn’t get that gene from me!
You have tell him, that no girls like nagging … so he better change his attitude.
I will tell him right now!
I kinda figured Ming was the one doing the nag, nag, nagging. Sorry, but I did have a giggle and could picture this.
He never stops nagging – argh!
Parents! What can you do about them?
Yes but today when I asked my son/parent to stop nagging me he said why? I said I already had my childhood one and I didn’t particularly want it again.
So knew this was Ming, bless him! He shall tire himself out, Jimmy nags me a bit also.
Thats ok I nag his brother lol U go nag Godfrey!!
Ming and Jimmy should meet each other!
Ming reminds me so much of our grandson Nathan. Holly and the boys have lived with us, most of the time, since the boys were born. Ty just moved to college. Holly and Nate just moved into an apartment. Nate’s 16, and when he lived here, our basement was the boys’ domain. He kept it picked up and swept. His mom, Holly, is less tidy. He’s always giving her rules about their new apartment. They’re like the old movie The Odd Couple. Pretty amusing.
That is so interesting, Judith. Yes, Nathan sounds a lot like Mingy and oh that Odd Couple reference – thanks for reminding me of this show!
Nathan gives us a lot more leeway than he does his mother. My theory is that kids always give their mom the toughest time, because most of them know that their mom is going to hang in there and love them, no matter what. That can be a curse and a blessing.
Nathan is uncannily like Ming!
Yeah, there’s that jaw-dropping moment when we switch sides and receive the nagging end of the verbage. It makes me snicker. Sometimes I turn on lights and leave them on, just to irritate the kid. You go, girl.
Kids are so self-righteous aren’t they. Good on you for turning the lights on – ha!
Sometimes I leave the light on…on purpose…just to tick off the kids. I call it payback.
you had me until i read the one about teamwork…seems to me i remember a post where you two discussed this subject and recall he was the one to remind you of it! love this kid. truly julie
Oh buggar it – I wanted to trick everyone. I should have know you would suss it out Uncorrigible!
🙂
So funny!!
I bet your girls don’t nag you!
That’s amusing! A bit of role reversal which is priceless.
Yeah but I don’t nag him! It isn’t fair – hehe!
LOL!! Ming has a mouth on him!! So funny!!
He is going to drive his future wife (if that happens) insane!
brilliant, I had no idea! You had me quite duped! I love it, yet again you have a wonderful way with words and with sharing.
I was hoping to dupe people – ha! Thanks Tammy.
This is hilarious! I’m looking forward to the day when my kids nag about me not picking up my stuff!
Do not wish that on yourself!
Fun post. Well done. In my youth I was impressed with my wisdom, looking back I’m impressed with the depth of my convictions on right vs wrong. Frustrating as it may be, being responsible and willing to take charge is not a given in youth today. And he has a good heart. Rather nice tribute to both you and Anthony.
Yes but now I am nagging him to stop nagging me!
You are right about the right vs wrong youth wisdom.
