It’s Father’s Day today and Ants is being brought home by one of his nephews in about half an hour.
The trouble is that yesterday I somehow twisted my left ankle so badly that I can hardly walk, let alone drive.
Luckily the house is full of walking sticks!
Happy Father’s Day to Ants! Have a good visit and I hope your ankle feels better soon. 🙂
Thank you Diana!
ARGH!!! That’s terrible 😦
I have a new appreciation for my feet!
I hope you get the help you need. Hmmm. I guess you can really relate to Anthony’s immobility today. Good luck and speedy recovery!
Yes certainly was a bit of the odd couple!
Oh no – Julie hope you are ok 😦 I have a foot issue right now too — think it’s referred from spinal nerve though — not fun at all — Good luck with Ants … and careful with the walking stick not to abuse your shoulder/arm leaning on it. xxoo ps: your fathers day is in September – oh wow!!! Feel better ~
It’s okay today, sort of – can your foot be treated?
It’s going to be a nasty project to figure out where the nerve is being crushed (spine/hip/knee/ ankle/foot) … I’m afraid to even think about it and hope it calms down on its own… Has been 6 days… another layer i really don’t need – -but my life… xo
I wish I could give you my healing foot – your situation is unimaginably awful, Robyn. I am so sorry.
Be careful not to make your ankle worse.
oh, Julie–so sorry.
have a nice day with Ants today and i hope you feel better. our Father’s Day is in JUne here
Funny how our countries don’t synchronize!
it is different. i would never have known this was this way until i met people from other countries
All houses are full of walking sticks… I’m continuously buying one… don’t know what for as I don’t need it but still…
Why on earth do you buy walking sticks?
All hand carved and beautiful…
We have one here like that and it folds out at the top so the person can sit on it.
Hope it’s just a temporary set back and you can enjoy the day together
As soon as Ants arrived it got a bit better – weird! The day was pretty crap though.
I hate hearing people twist ankles. I don’t know how it happens, but I don’t like the sound of it! Hope it repairs quick.
I was chasing our weiro – silly me!
I have sprained my ankle so bad that the doc thought it was broken. That was years ago and now my ankle swells up whenever I am on it too long. So I know just how painful it can be — I was told a sprain was worse for pain than a break–which is hard to imagine. So take care of yourself. (hugs)
I could hardly walk this morning then it suddenly got okay! Still hurts but I have stopped panicking!
Thank goodness 🙂
I hope Ants has had a great Father’s Day and I bet he loved spending time with you and Ming
First hour was beautiful, second hour was ordinary and third hour was hell but at least we did it!
Hope you had/have an enjoyable day, Julie.
Too hard – Ants was so incapacitated – argh!
Yup, you managed to find the silver lining! Hope you all had a great time.
Thanks so much – it was a bit of good and a bit of bad and a lot of a fizzog – but oh well! Can’t win ’em all.
An opportunity for you to slow down, sit and enjoy the visit.
Dearest Julie — sorry about the ankle — I was dancing Friday night and twisted my knee — an old injury — now it’s wrapped and I’m hobbling 🙂
But I don’t have to ‘be present’ to anything other than relaxing and taking Ellie for an occassional walk.
It must have been stressful for you — knowing what to anticipate, knowing you had to ‘be present’ takes a toll.
I’m glad it went as well as it could and that you can now give yourself from TLC. Treat yourself gently, be kind to yourself, and your ankle and relax! Oh, and breathing’s good too!
Hugs
Thanks Louise – sorry about your knee! My ankle is much better today but I have been doing an incredible amount of sleeping so that must have been the key!
Ouch! Sounds like it hasn’t spoiled the day, Julie?
It was okay – as soon as I put some boots on it seemed to feel better.
What are you like.. I hope someone else was doing the cooking! c
Nup!
Remember the first hour, and smile, remember the second hour and semi smile, forget the third hour, let it go.. Hugs!
You are right!
I hope that Father’s Day tuned out fine and your foot better. Our Father’s Day is in October, our world is upside down . *laughing.
Every country seems to have a different day for it!
It not fathers day in England, that was June sometime 😉 Hope your ankle is OK though.
Thanks – yeah I don’t know why don’t all have the dame father’s day – weird.
Speedy recovery and hope it was a good day, with people waiting on YOU! Well you can always hope…
It was mediocre!
Oh dear Julie, I am sorry to hear this, I hope you get well soon. I didn’t know that this Father’s Day, happy day for you all. Thanks and Love, nia
Much better today Nia – thank you!
Sorry to hear your Father’s Day wasn’t all it could have been. At what point do you take the party to Ants in the lodge? Perhaps that would be easier on you.
Do take care. Put your feet up and have something to drink. 😉
That is a very good idea!
Oh dear! Hope it’s better soon.
I am such a wimp!
Hope the ankle heals soon. Big ouch!
Very inconvenient!
