Chooky: Here you are, Julie.
Me: Oh, thank you, Chooky!
Chooky: Sometimes I amaze myself.

They are a productive lot:)
I’ve never seen so many – every day more and more and more!
i need some of those eggs for breakfast!!!!
Too bad I can’t send you some!
Maybe just post a link and we can download them… 😉
Downloading an egg might be a bit splattery – ha!
hehe, o please, come on, lol
they are hard working girls!
A dozen eggs a day – maybe I should start selling them!
Great!!!! xo
I miss my layin’ hens…never had to add salt or pepper to them eggs!
glad you added that last part, thought you might be running a sweat coop there:)
No, they all run around all day all over the place but lay eggs in the morning in their little hen house!
How nice to have fresh farm eggs!
Lots of duck eggs too!
They’re great for baking.
Those look like like really jumbo sized eggs. 🙂
You should see the duck eggs!
I love these chooky pics! 😀 xx
Good egg, as they say.
love this side of you – as i love all the sides of you
You are too kind!
I am not
You have some hard working hens there … if that is what you get in a day. I suppose you spoil them in a hen away too. Lovely shots.
And they are so tame – once I let them out in the morning they follow me everywhere – so funny!
Very funny … all your birds such a joy!
Enjoy, the days are getting shorter and likely soon they will start to slow down.
Thank you!
Wow. I’m suddenly really craving eggs. I like SharedBlogs’ idea of downloading them…
I’d love to have those little gems every morning for breakfast, but suppose I’ll just have to look at your eggs with envy (or wait for my SIL to visit me again – bringing some of her hens prize possessions).
In the meantime, I buy lovely brown free range bio-dynamic ones from the local market (they have to be brown eggs, mind you – they somehow taste better).
They seem to be laying more than one a day each!!!
Oh to have fresh eggs each day but so many will you eat all those eggs
I am going to have to start baking!
In the very near future I see you becoming very creative at using eggs in your cooking! Imagine having 25 hens… (don’t ask).

PS: That last shot is my favorite!
You mean I have to cook – argh! you have 25??
No, not any more. Now I have 10 which is still too many. Next year only 5 and one rooster. Or maybe only 3 or 4 and a rooster. I love them, but they demand a lot of time for upkeep, and the cost of feed has more than doubled in the past 4 years. 50lbs. of feed is just under $18.00, and 50lbs. of scratch is about $15.00. It is sad to say, but as time goes by I am seeing them more as a food source and less as my pets. 😦
I, too, have had to become more pragmatic.
you egg cup runeth over. pickle them. yum-mee
I have never pickled an egg! How? I’ll look it up on internet.
oooh, they are so good. do you like pickled beets? if so, save the juice and just refill the jar (or use a bigger jar with several jars of pickled beet juice poured in) and place hard boiled eggs in it. they make the prettiest purple eggs ever! i’ve had other pickled eggs, but the beet ones are the best!
I hope so!!!! 😆
That is soooo cute!
