Today is my mother’s 58th wedding anniversary. I don’t always remember but I did today. Since my dad died 36 years ago it is not a day that we celebrate, but my mother has beautiful memories.
I love this picture of her on their wedding day:

A very classy bride!
Yes!
She looks lovely, Julie. She made a very beautiful bride.
(Every time I look at wedding photos from that era, I cannot but admire their tiny waists).
I know – did they wear corsets?
I think so, Julie.
I’m amazed every time I see my own Mother’s wedding photos. No white dress, but she looked very slim.
Even though I was very slim when young(er) – skinny even at a teenager – I always had broad shoulders & hips and a relatively large waistline. I weigh almost double what I did when 19 (Oh, my goodness, can’t believe I said that online – lol).
STUNNING! And you look like your mom!!!! Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!!
I don’t always see the resemblance but when I do it’s quite disconcerting ha!
WOW – gorgeous bride, stunning gown…
Yes!
How elegant!
I was married a year later .. we mostly all had small waist then, no corsets needed.
Wow – were you! Okay so what was the secret to the small waist? I haven’t had one of those since I was 8!
You look like your mum! She looks so beautiful in this photo and tall!
That’s a great compliment.
beautiful wedding photo!
I’m going to ask her to scan a few more.
Stunning, simply stunning. You look just like your mom. 🙂
Thank you!
What a beauty. She looks like a model. That dress is so lovely.
She’s still stunning.
Wow what a bride…
She is still gorgeous.
How beautiful and elegant … Diane
If I had been small enough I would have borrowed her dress when I got married – alas it would never have fit me!
Beautiful! I love photos from this era.
Me too!
Everyone looks so thin and tall.
I know!
. Julie, what a wonderful picture to base so many magnificent memories. Thank you for sharing it, Bill
You are very welcome!
Stunning photo, very classy …. And I just love the dresses. I don’t like todays wedding fashion .. with all the naked shoulders and bustier.
Ha – and I wore a silk suit when I got married – not very bridy!
wow, what a priceless treasure. and she is beautiful )
She is!
beautiful
I’m gonna get her to scan heaps more.
She looks just the same today.
I agree.
Wow! What a beautiful woman and dress, gorgeous!
She is still gorgeous!
Yes, I agree. Quite beautiful.
No wonder my dad fell in love with her!
