Queenie’s chicks have become incredibly assertive. They take the food out of her mouth, fly at her aggressively if she is in the wheat bowl, and now they even choose the bedtime tree. Last night they decided to move to another tree while poor Queenie waited in the original bedtime tree. These two peachicks are absolute brats!
But Queenie doesn’t mind.
I think you are going to have your hands full with those two as they grow up 😀
Like teenagers
Amazing how high up in the trees …. they sleep. Great little post, Julie.
Is this tree easier to climb? Lazy sods 😀
They don’t think they need Queenie anymore… rebels! Diane
They are so adorable!!
I suspect Queenie might be thinking, “Oh, good. I’ll keep an eye on them, but at least I have some peace and quiet.”
You have read her mind (and mine!)
Have you named them… sounds like some good Auusie names will manifest themselves for these two birds…
They have flown the nest…must watch Queenie for the “empty nest syndrome” …actually she is probably relieved ha
Sounds like they’re teenage delinquents already. 🙂
Do the little ones of peahens normally behave this way?
I think they’re just “branching out.”
My goodness! they look quite content on their new perch. Haha!
Change their names to Daylight & Savings Time. That’s screwing us all up! lol. I still don’t get it spring forward, fall back? Maybe they actually have it figured out. Laughed at your last line, Queenie doesn’t mind. Cute!
Queenie could use a break from her rambuncious teenagers.
I wonder at how bratty teenage animals can be, I saw a video of lion cub triplets trying to annoy their papa. Papa was not happy and the cubs were still undeterred, brats all of them 😉
There’s something so enticing and refreshing about brats!
Diana xo
Julie, Queenie is the good mom that is for sure, so forgiving. Love the pictures and your tidbits of lore. Thank you and take care, Bill
It looks so dry there and the birds are cute. Looking forward to the summer when we have nice dry weather. It is so wet here and the ground is so slippy with all the mud.
I managed to slip on the golf course on Sunday coming off a green and the dirt on my clothes is so well ingrained it may take a few washes to clean them! Roll on summer.
Well, those adorable little brats! You just might have your hands full with them soon. Two working together like that could stir up some trouble!
She is a mom. Da babies rule. R
My friend always told me that God created teenagers so that parents didn’t mind when they moved away:) I think she was onto something….
