Okami’s ears are always up.
Uluru’s ears are usually down ….
…. and sometimes up!
Phoenix 1 thinks their ear antics are a sign of immaturity.

do you shave them yourself?
No way!
I love them – I want one so much!
or two rather since I know they’re herd animals..
I agree!
They are quite aloof – only half tame – but so beautiful!
They are so bloody cute whether their ears are up or down………
They are the most amazing creatures…
They have such peaceful expressions on their faces (usually!)
So beautiful xo
Julie, I want a brown one like Uluru. What a face! ~ Lynda
PS: Another animal I haven’t a chance of owning… OH WAIT… I did get the four new Weechus! Perhaps there is hope. 😉
You and your Weechus!
What is a Weechu?!
Barb
That’s what she calls her guinnea fowl!
I’ve forgotten what they are. Are they lamas? Or some relative of lamas? I hate to ask this because I’m sure I’m the only one who doesn’t know. They sure are cute.
Alpacas – same family as lamas.
Thank you. They’re really pretty.
These are some of my favorite cute critters of yours. I can’t get over the beauty of the golden pheasant!
Phoenix 2 lives with neighbours now but I miss him! Phoenix 1 does NOT miss him – ha!
The alpaca, llamas, guanacos and vicunas are South America family of the camels. Since they live high in the Andes in valleys and plateaus they forage in high grasses and are always at open terrain, the storms are almost a daily event, the herds sit on the ground and lower their ears by instinct no to attract any lightning. Most cattle or animals have that instinct.
I have been wondering so much about that ear thing – thank you for your knowledge. avian101!!
My dad had an alpaca sweater, once. No wonder I liked it so much!
There’s a Danish couple that’s got a weaving enterprise going in the middle of West Texas. They’ve got their own herds of alpacas, sheep and such. I’ve only been there once, but it might be a fun little trip, and a great photo essay!
I hope you do this photo essay – it sounds so interesting – do it!
love the ears up and down–you have unboundless talent (LOL)
But I can’t move my ears!!
my husband can move one of his
Only one!

Clever man!

They are just so darn cute!
They look a bit unreal sometimes!
The alpacas are so cute!! What faces!! The pheasant has beautiful colors!!
Barb.
Very cute – they are indeed. Okami always looks calm and Uluru always looks surprised!
Couldn’t take my eyes off Phoenix. Such a beautiful bird.
Yes – I wish he hadn’t banished his brother!
They are all gorgeous creatures in their own way.
Yes!
Jules…you are so funny. I love your posts…all of them…but gotta tell ya, I look forward to your witty quips even more! ha! (but I can’t move my ears. priceless and so you!)
In order to move your ears you have to be able to click your jaw – it takes awhile to learn this -Hehe!
i thought the trick was to move your ears and NOT move anything else! THAT i want to see!
I will show you when you visit – I can also twist my tongue.
oh ho! I LOVE a good tongue twister! hehe
I can fold my tongue into 3 half loops – my grandfather taught me how. I will not take a picture of this because it looks gross!
oh please…a picture is worth a 1,000 words! you could have a tongue twisting contest. have others post their own. we could all use a good laugh. 😉
Oh dear, Okami is so lovely… Blessing them all. Thank you dear Julie, love, nia
He is so peaceful!
Poor Phoenix – all that beauty and yet he’s still jealous of alpace secret ear code
I know – silly boy!
