A duck called ‘Zaruma’

on July 23, 2012

This is Zaruma drinking hesitantly from the water trough for the emus.

This is Zaruma trying to hide the fact that he is drinking from the emus’ trough.

This is Zaruma promising me that he will not actually get into the drinking trough.

This is Zaruma after having a swim in the trough.

I’m sure he meant it when he said it. You need to get a pinky promise!

      What is a pinky promise?

      • magzmama says:

It’s when you lock your little finger with someone else’s little finger and agree on a promise. It’s the only time I can trust my newly 6 year old daughter. When I feel like something’s up, I say, “let’s pinky promise”, and if she finds a reason not to, I know I’m being conned!

Yeah I thought so – a useful thing to remember – ha!

      • Michelle says:

you’re showing that you are the mother of a son who will probably never do a pinky promise. Daughters, on the other hand, regularly do them. I shall provide instructions. Ok, so put your hand out in front of you, fold down all fingers except for the little finger, turn hand sideways (with folded fingers facing inwards), have another human do it with their same hand, clasp the other human’s little finger with your little finger, now make a promise to the other human that you will never break, and there you have it – a pinky promise. Sage will do one with you on our return.

These instructions are useful – haha! I am gonna say it to Ming when he gets home tonight.

Julie, they always think they are so clever. You catch them in their lies and their response is to…
