These are our six newish hens safe in the chookyard, with our rooster, Tina Turner, outside the yard but wanting to visit them. He, and our other three roosters, have not been given visitation rights yet and I have advised the hens not to make eye contact with any of the guys until I have given them the ‘birds & bees’ talk, hence this photo!
Oh yes, and they are all also watching the goose olympics.
Love it! Divert your eyes and just nod is the advice I give about other people, right in front of them, to others, when I’m trying to be funny. Ok now if that isn’t the most, what would the grammar check tool call it, fragmented sentence I’ve ever written, I don’t know what is. Nod if you know what I’m trying to say. 😉
Nodding!!!!!!
Thanks!
are they Buff Orpingtons? not that I know anything about chickens. And Tina is gorgeous as usual-have a good weekend.
Isa Browns (I think!)
I love it too…..
Good advice!
I’ll let one of the roosters into their yard eventually but it will be under strict supervision!
I bet they are nervous to play with the big boys!
Yes – I am nervous for them!
A Roster by name … Tina Turner ????!!!! Magnificent bird., but how got the wires wrong here ???? No wonder the hens are more interested in the gooses.
When he was a chick I thought he was a girl – ha!
He is a handsome her!
Yes indeed!
We called our cat Kitty until we learned he was a boy, so now we call him Kitty Bob
Ha! A friend of mine suggested we rename Tina Turner as Tony Turner!
or Tim Turner – kinda sounds like Tina and he/she won’t get confused
Ah – good idea!
I just had a commenter over at my place tell me that her dad used to call her brother Buff Orpinton – because he was a blond! So now I know what those chickens look like, and felt ever so smug when I saw the name here and didn’t have to run to google!
Every time I see Tina Turner I smile. That is one fine bird!
I am sending Tina to you!
great looking birds………a new love life begins lol
They keep me sane – are you okay?
not today i am not……….sorry, heart is broken bad, and trying to pick myself up
Oh Terry – please email me juligoyder@gmail.com

New kids on the block!! ~ they are beautiful 🙂 xo
I knew it Jules..you ARE a bird pornographer, just one with an eye toward keeping your ladies safe! 😉
I am going to explain sex to the hens tomorrow so they don’t get scared when I let Tina into their yard.
Giving them the ol’ Birds and the Bees story then? Good luck!
Tomorrow!
That’s the advice I give my boys! Cut your eyes and close your ears. 🙂
Ah – good advice!
I don’t think they need worry if the rooster’s name is Tina Turner, haha
Well I raised him from a chick and always though he was a she until he began to do that cockadoodle doo thing!
