Earlier today I reblogged a post written by Lady Barefoot Baroness who many may be familiar with. She and her friend have combined their talents, and a shared passion for child safety, to create a new blog, the details of which will be announced soon. Here is the link to more information:

Now, as I’ve said to Baroness, I don’t like reblogging because I often don’t read reblogs due to time constraints and I don’t think I am alone here. For newcomers to blogging, reblogging is when you read a post on someone else’s blog and you want to share it on your own blog, so you click ‘reblog’ which is what I did today. It is worth keeping in mind, however, that some bloggers do not want to be reblogged so it is important to ask their permission first. (I hope that is clearer than mud!)
My own passion for this cause is difficult for me to describe because the thought of any child being hurt appals and disturbs me, and I have a longstanding aversion to news items about child abductions and disappearances because, as I am a parent, I cannot imagine a worse horror.
Reblogging and linking my own readers into this cause has scared the hell out of me because I am a bit of a wimp in this way and certainly am no activist. However, if my reblog of Baroness’ most recent post and the link above can possible help find a lost child then it’s worthwhile – absolutely.
I will not reblog in the future; instead I will figure out how to put the message out there on my own blog. Please go to both of the aforementioned blogs to get more information and many thanks!
I’m with you on this one…
When it comes to children I agree, it’s very difficult to be aware that there are people who would hurt them. It makes me angry!
I generally don’t reblog–but I do tweet –not that I understand really what I am doing when I tweet.I admire you for taking this stand, but making this exception.
I don’t know how to tweet!
I don’t really know what I am doing, my son set up my twitter account and I just hit the bird when I want to tweet
I think I have a twitter account but haven’t twitted yet (I don’t think I have!)
Tyler set mine up to announce everytime I wrote a post
May I borrow Tyler?
have to do it soon – he goes back to college in a few weeks
Just send him over tomorrow – haha! I wish.
Nice work, regards
sorry if i have ever reblogged any of your posts…………
No, no – I love being reblogged – didn’t mean it that way!
I think child safety is a good cause.A broad topic. i just heard on the radio this morning that effective today pedophiles will get automatic jail time even for luring a child or watching porn so I am happy about this-about time! on the subject of reblogging, how timely…my post on the Fancy Dancers was reblogged. My first thought was Ugh? ! and i was thinking of writing you and Robyn to ask what this was. The person who re-blogged me informed me but I don’t see that as asking permission and I can see it as flattery, somewhat,(the truth is I felt annoyed) but when I went to her site ALL of her posts are re-blogs. Now I see this child safety as a collaboration -that’s different. I subscribe to your blog because I like your stories( Ants and Ming and Godfrey and Tina) and your creativity and have come to like you. I can’t do that reading re-blogs So now am i as clear as mud? 🙂
Thanks for this comment and what you say about reblogging is interesting for all of us.
I’ve got all of BB links on my page and this one too. Agree about the re-blogging, but I put a prominent section on my blogroll dedicated to this. Glad you got it out there again Jules, every little bit helps!

I’ll try and figure out how to do this today.
This is totally off topic, have you ever seen or even heard of a completely black humming bird? Even a legend about one? Thanks,
No, never! I’m curious now.
I’ve searched the internet, and I can’t find one either, let me know if you come across anything
I am so curious now too – but why do you want to know?
I “think” I saw one although considering where we were at the time, William thinks maybe I saw a spirit in bird form, regardless of whether it was an actual bird or a spirit, it was definitely a solid black humming bird
That is so interesting – do you see Tootlepedal’s blog? He might know.
I will ask him,
Thanks
You’re pretty wonderful to reblog this Jules.
I understand your reluctance, the children, their families, the communities, the authorities, and we thank you.
You’re simply one of my bests~ BB
Now I just have to figure out how to do the gidget, fidget, widget thing!
Nice work, Thank you dear Julei, Love, nia
I’m still trying to figure out how to do the widget thing!
