It is now the fourth day of Spring here and it hasn’t stopped storming – ferocious rain, wind, and a very frightened sun that tries to peek out of the black sky and then withdraws again. The whole house is rattling with this extraordinary weather and I don’t dare venture out even though it is already after 2pm. I await a lull so that I can go out and tend to the birds.
Do they all have their own special places to hide from the rain? Soggy birds don’t make happy birds except when they’re out catching worms!
There are shelters in their night time yards but they don’t use them – they don’t seem to mind. I have brought them up tough!
You are lucky to be getting early rains… or are you in the winter rain belt…??
Yes and yes!
do u get snow in the winter?
Never.
lucky you! we get lots of it, below freezing and big winds
It’s so cold today that I wouldn’t be surprised if it did snow!
wow, get the thermal underwear out!!!! haha
Good to stay in doors on days like this unless you absolutely need to go out. Stay safe.
Send some of that over here. We need the autumn rains badly in my neck of the woods.
I wish I could send you some over!
Me, too, thanks! Today’s temp will top 103, they say. 103 doesn’t sound bad to some, but here in this area, the humidity makes it feel like 110 or better. It’s very oppressive.
That is very hot – humidity makes it unbearable. We rarely get humidity down here where I live.
sounds like British weather
you have the most amazing storms out there.. c
Lately – yes!
Do you like storms Jules? It depends what kind for me. But good on you for having the sense to not venture out in it.
Take care, blowing sunshine and warmth your way….swooosh….
Thanks for the swoosh!
you betcha!
Seems we have similar weather today ~ Gives me a reason to not feel as bad about being inside so much. xxoo
Send us some of that rain. Our grass is so dry it’s breaking off.
I would if I could!
what kind of spring is that? an uncooperative one.
Yes – it will not do what it is told!
like so much of life – btw, why don’t you start writing a column again–from your blog you have so much to share
I need to find a magazine that wants me first!
I keep forgetting that we are in opposite seasons. Be safe and try and stay dry.
~FringeGirl
I love a good storm, but not one that lasts for days! Hope you dry out soon. I’m sure the birds will be getting testy.
They don’t seem to mind!
I hope that your beautiful birds was okay and I hope you are okay…. here we have a very late summer but some serious wind is coming our way .. but no rain yet.
Good luck with your winds!
Looks very personal *laughing !!!!!
Wow, spring arrived like a lion. Hope it settles soon.
Does Spring always roar in like this?
No!
Spring has sprung and the weather doesn’t agree…………………
So strange to think of you going into spring there, when we are going into fall here. Our weather this week has been bullish too! Glad we stayed in! It’s safer that way. ~ Lynda
I have to venture out soon to go into town to see Ants and then Arthur – bit like a comic strip!
Be careful. Be safe.
Such relentless weather – it’s like winter all over again!
I like the happy, little, Spring song in the movie Bambi better.
Ha!
