Over the last few days I have derived an enormous amount of joy and comfort from an unexpected gift – Gutsy9 – the little peachick who mostly lives on my shoulder.

The unconditional, intuitive love that animals provide is so heartening, isn’t it?!
So beautiful – he is all alone so has adopted me (or maybe it’s the other way around!)
Appears that you two are a balm and source of solace to each other… Lovely…
You just want to squeeze him, he is so sweet. Gutsy9 still hasn’t been welcomed by the adult females I gather, well they don’t know what they are missing. I almost wish that Gutsy 9 wouldn’t grow up,
Well none of the probable mothers were interested so he is all mine! Yes, he is growing so fast – fascinating experience.
Gutsy9 is so sweet & adorable – it’s a shame he has to grow up one day.
I was told today by a visitor who also happened to have peas that Gutsy9 is a pied peacock so he is half blue and half white – so interesting!
How sweet 🙂
I am trying not to get as attached to him and he is to me in case he doesn’t survive – argh!
better than “sunshine on your shoulder”
Yes!
Too sweet! I am loving this little guy!
You should hear him trotting after me on the kitchen floor – it’s like a horse hoof sound, hilarious!
Welcome back! What a lovely friend.
I saved him from certain death (via foxes) and he has now saved me too from the black dog of depression.
Yes, straight away I knew he was special. Life does work in mysterious and sometimes beautiful ways. (Thank goodness!)
I missed you. Did you have a nice rest? With every post about Gutsy9 I find myself wanting a pair of them! Simply darling!
I had a few things to do and thought to give myself a blogging break (reading and writing) but I missed it after just a few days – ha! Thanks Lynda.
We do what we must. 🙂
It’s nice to have something to snuggle and cuddle. Besides, Gutsy’s irresistible. How could you not enjoy her? Nice to have you back!
Ha – I wasn’t gone long. Blogging seems to be saving me from despair (sorry, that sounds so melodramatic but you know what I mean).
That is just so darn adorably cute ^_^ Awwwwwww 🙂
Love it, thanks for sharing 🙂
Rohan.
I thought you were my nephew, Rohan, then realized. Thanks!
Welcome back. I was worried.
Bad week but okay now – you are very kind. I’m off to bed now so I will ‘see you’ in the morning.
Sleep well.
This is so beautiful, so lovely and amazing, dear Julie. I loved so much. Thank you, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for you all, love you, nia
You too Nia!
There is something comforting about having a little or cuddly animal curl up to you. I used to have cats that I found this with …We have a little dog and sometimes he’ll lie beside me…..but with cats it seems to come so natural…I never did have a little ‘chick’ though….He’s adorable..Take care….Diane
I’ve had various other chicks attach to me but never like this!
He’s your best friend.
Yes!
awww so precious. your own little furry friend to snuggle with
Yes he is very affectionate!
I knew you could not stay away from us long. It is not fair to have a bad week this close to Christmas–I too am having a bad week, but I have decided to just ignore the bad stuff if I can and deal with it next week. Julie – I wish you a better week and wonderful Christmas–if that is possible.
I, too, had a long list of springcleaning/organizing pre-Christmas jobs to do which I am now leaving until after Christmas – ha!
many of mine have been relegated to after Christmas too–I am creating a list of what absolutely has to be done, and leaving the rest behind
So sweet. I didn’t know they are social.
Only as chicks. As adults they are a bit aloof!
I am glad your blogging break wasn’t too long. We missed you. LOVE little Gutsy9/ Mine are way past that cute stage now.
All of my other peas where half grown when I got them so this is a very new experience!
*laughing ….. yes, there is … to have an adult peacock in your bed!!! Adorable cute.
I can assure you that I will not be sleeping with an adult peacock – haha!
Don’t be too sure about that … worst things has happen *smile
Julie, You must have a wonderful shoulder to rest upon. Gutsy is looking like he has the world by the tail. — take care, Bill
When he isn’t on my shoulder I feel like something is missing – crazy!
Oh, you’re attached already! And who wouldn’t be? He is so sweet!
Inseparable!
He is so bloody cute…………….hope he doesn’t poop on your shoulder that would not be cute
So far he has pooped everywhere else but my shoulder!
All I want for Christmas is a peacock for my shoulder, a peacock for my shoulder, a peacock for my shoulder!
It’s unconditional love. I get the same joy from my dogs 🙂
Now that’s impressive. 😉
