Catastrophe!

on March 25, 2013

My mother had a terrible fall yesterday and is in hospital undergoing surgery for three fractures in her wrist. Her pelvis is also fractured in two places. She had just recovered from a fractured hip and was elated to be able to ride her bicycle again and it was only her second ride. A neighbour found her on the road and rang me. Since then it has been a bit chaotic.

She shines.

I weep.

Wow, your poor mother …. she must have been in some pain – at least she are in good hands now, but will she be able to manage on her own … when they send her home ???? The pelvis heals by itself, my mum has done it twice, but she never had two fractures. Your mum doesn’t do anything in half measures. What age is your mum … ??? I understand that you weep. You’re both in my thoughts.

  30. Oh, I’m so very sorry. Prayers for our mum and you!

Been there, when my own mother did that – not that exactly, but near enough. The good news is that Mom healed up fine from all of her breaks – ankles, shoulder, wrist. The irony was that her bones were great – no osteoporosis. It was just bad luck.

May your Mum heal just as quickly and well!

  48. WordsFallFromMyEyes says:

‘Like’ isn’t meant to indicate liking your mother’s fall or your weeping, but just like the fact you can let your stuff out and share it.

I truly hope things are going okay now. Bless your neighbour – that’s what you call a NEIGHBOUR.

  49. bluebee says:
