Laugh out loud
Leaves on lawn
Listen or leave
Loser of lottery
Lonely or lustrous
Lovely old leprechaun
Lack of love
Limping on limestone
Lard of lamb
Like or leave
Leaking old lesson
Leaning on legs
Laundering of loss
Long or lengthened
Lazy ornery llama
Lost or loved
Libido of lipid
Lecherous old lion
Lost or least
Lots of love
Laugh out loud!

I tend not to use LOL very much because, after all, it might be misinterpreted.

Yes, it’s been one of those days. LOL!

  16. So clever, Julie. Makes me want to think of more. Fun. And Lots of Love, for sure.

  17. janechese says:

Great writing on this, Julie! I remember sending messages back and forth with a new love I was all “a-flutter” over and was SO happy when he wrote LOL thinking it meant “Lots of Love” and shared this with my firend who dryly told me that it means “laughing out loud”. What a let-down! Just say it, folks. (Now I am curious about ROFL and LOM) Ha Ha Ha!

  18. There are days when I’m feeling leaning on legs. hee, hee

I llike Mary’s ‘Laughter on Lips..
I use it all the time so people doesn’t mistake the fact that I mean my words in jest. I don’t know how to get an emoticom into a comment.

  24. I have a story similar to janecheese. One of our local columnists said that he thought LOL meant Lots of Love, and put it at the end of a letter consoling a friend about a death in his family. Oops.

  29. I used to think it was ‘lots of love’ and my daughter sent it to me all the time. Isn’t that sweet, I thought. Until one day it didn’t make sense, and it was a bit offensive. And then she explained tat it was ‘laugh out loud’. Silly old ‘grew up in 1960s’ me.
    LOL
