Gutsy9 isn’t quite sure about my mother’s weird canary, Andre, who I am babysitting while she is in hospital. Five months ago they were the same size!

Gutsy9 sure has grown… there is something to compare his/her size with… getting a big bird… does it still want to perch on your shoulder…????

It is amazing! Although I don’t have “pet” birds, the wild songbirds that visit my feeders everyday keep me at the kitchen window. I love watching them!

Good photos. Saw a pair of mute swans building a nest at Baron’s Haugh in Motherwell (Scotland) yesterday so there should be some young soon.

The Peregrine at New Lanark has laid an egg and the Osprey at Loch of the Lowes near Dunkeld is due to lay this week.

      Will you take photos?

      • janeslog says:

I took a photo of the nest using my spotting scope. A Coot was sitting on the nest while one of the Swans was building it.

The Peregrine at New Lanark has laid an egg last week and Lady, the 26 year old Osprey at Loch of the Lowes near dunkeld is due to lay this week.

I will be making on trek on the bus (cheap fare!) to Dunkeld and walk the few miles to Loch of the Lowes.

Will load the photos later. I will also go to New Lanark as well.

        Exciting times.
