I am very new at this but oh what fun! Apparently my old laptop has a really dreadful hard drive problem. Tonight I am gleefully figuring out my new toy.

The iPad can be a great alternative, especially when the electricity goes out, as it did for me, yesterday! If nothing else, it can shed a little light in the household…

I’ve got the Sony Xperia S tablet which was to link up with Xperia S phone. It uses the Android system. They are very handy.
Unfortunately, my Xperia S phone was stolen from me when I left my jacket in the staff canteen at work on Wednesday 19th June :(.
Unfortunately for the thief, I was sitting under a security camera and the thief was caught on camera rummaging through my pockets. Obviously not a very clever thief.
Just watch with your IPad in case a light-fingered thief decided to steal it.
You can also use it in cafes which have WiFi such as McDonalds and Burger King. Also supermarkets have WiFi as well. I tend to use the tablet for watching videos as the quality of picture is better than on the PC.

I have found that the iPad is just that (ie: a toy) but when you want to do some real writing, nothing beats the computer complete with a proper keyboard and mouse.
Sorry for the cynicism, as I continually get frustrated with what the iPad cannot do, rather than find joy in what it can. 🙂
Delighted to hear you have an iPad – they’re a lot of fun and I suspect you might get hooked! Don’t forget that it’s got a camera and video recorder too…

Fantastic … good on you. I hate anything like Ipad’s – too old for them, they are too quick for me … and I’m very quick on my keyboard – the pads slows me down … nothing for me – Congratulation, and just go for it. I stay in the Stone Age. *laughter.
