Ming’s adventure 2

on August 12, 2013

Well he finally got home just as it was getting dark. He hardly texted me at all, but at midnight I received:

All’s fine as wine summer shine!

Then today he wasn’t answering his phone so, in order to avoid another bout of worry, I went into town to see Ants. Just as I was about to come home again, the brat finally rang to say he was halfway home himself.

As I was about to turn into our driveway I noticed that a young steer was on the road (had gotten out of one our neighbours’ paddocks), so I quickly texted Ming with:

Steer on road.

I was ridiculously happy and relieved to see him again until he said grumpily, “Do you think I don’t know how to steer?”

We have both agreed to improve our texting skills – ha!

  5. haha LOL – love it! The whole point of texting is to be brief, as you were, but it’s funny when stuff like this happens! šŸ™‚

Okay, Julie – I love puns so this one got to me. It was very mooooooving. I think it’s “bull” – he knew what you meant! There was a lot at steak here! šŸ™‚

  7. Terry says:

so glad he had a great time, and remained safe and is home. the texting part is funny!

  8. Same thing happens with me and my mum texting. Funny how it only ever happens with her, lol.

  9. That is hilarious! I would have been offended if I were Ming, too!

So glad he made it home safely. Texting does have its challenges, doesn’t it? My family uses alot of sarcasm and irony in conversation and that just does not translate to text messages or email. We think there should be a special font.

Wonderful …. so funny – glad that he are back and maybe you both should buy the dummies guide book for texting .. and practice together. Wonderful funny.

  12. Trisha says:

Funny story! What he must have been thinking about you telling him to steer while driving….:)

  13. Steer on the road……………..now that is funny……………..good to hear he is home safe and sound

  14. Ingrid says:

Very funny Julie about the steer … my grandfather used to have an espression in Croation “Small children are a small worry and big children are a big worry”
There is a little lost in translation, however we certainly get the meaning … quite profound.

  15. ha ha ha that’s cute šŸ™‚

  16. Just laughing out loud!

  17. when my daughter visited I sent her a text “loved our precious time” and it appeared as “loved our previous time”.
My daughter wondered what on earth was wrong with this time!
Texts can get one into very hot water!

  18. elizabeth says:

LOL, you two are so funny. Thanks for the giggles. šŸ™‚

  19. Great texting pun, and it wasn’t even autocorrect’s fault!
