Anthony’s room

on June 4, 2015

Every day I look forward to going in to the nursing home to be with Anthony. His room has now become home to me; Ming throws his big self onto the bed, my mother knits, friends and relatives visit us here, and staff are welcoming with cups of tea and jokes. I love being in this room.

That is a great feat-those rooms can be so sterile and cold.It makes a big difference.

Make it like it is a sitting room in the house. It will be reassuring to everybody and also make Anthony more comfortable.

Some nice pictures on the wall are always good as well.

I have agonised about the poor way they treated you and come to the following conclusion to spend n: At Stepping Stone Hospice we try to create a “home away from home” atmosphere and encourage the families to spend as much time as possible with the loved ones. We do not allow families to get involved with counselling for a period of two years after the patient’s death as they are too “raw”. I think they handled the situation very poorly but I believe their motives were pure. The fact that they have succeeded in creating a home away from home for you proves that. I am so glad for you my friend.
