Apology

I decided to edit out the following sentence from my ‘rage’ post of yesterday: “Of course none of those professionals really care, do they.”

That was a dreadful overgeneralization for which I apologize.  The focus of my rage was on the doctor who did not return my calls for three weeks and who took just as long to even refer Anthony to the surgeon.

Now Anthony is on the urgent list for cancellations. It’s a public holiday today so tomorrow I will ring the surgeon’s office and ask if there are any cancellations and then I will just keep ringing until it happens.

I  will not panic. It is not an emergency so the hospital idea is out.

Most of the professionals who have looked after Anthony, and continue to look after him, are wonderful, caring people.

Butterfly haiku

The utterfly looks

for the B that will heal it

under the grey rocks.

The utterfly has

enormously big nostrils,

like big purple eyes.

The utterfly finds

its missing B in the hug

of an old, old man.

The utterfly finds

its missing B in the smile

of a young, young man.

The utterfly speaks,

sheds its mothy shabbiness,

enfolds its own B …

And becomes a butterfly.

It is hard to find the right words to say how much I admire Robyn’s resilence and determination and generosity when she is facing such pain.

THROUGH THE HEALING LENS

~~

 Uplift me
Today

 Beside you
I’ll stay

~~

Loving strength
You extend

Broken pieces
We’ll mend

~~

Despite dares
That we face

Conjoined faith
We embrace

~~

Roots of passion
Persist

Amongst perilous
Twists;

~~

So

Together
We
Soar

~~

Bound as
One

Evermore.

To all of my wonderful blog friends,

I dedicate this post to all of you who have been my ‘uplifters’ over these past several months. I have been deeply moved by  your collective love and support with regard to both, my ongoing medical challenges, and my creative journey through blogging. The friends I’ve made here are some of the kindest and most generous and genuine people I’ve known. You have all  touched my soul, and taught me so much.

Currently, I am facing more difficult times physically, and will need to reduce my blogging schedule temporarily. I want to let everyone…

I have reblogged this to give my support to this great cause.

Hello my blogging friends – this is just for you: My friend and brother blogger and I have created a campaign of posting missing children alerts on our blogs to bring awareness to the children’s stories and most importantly their faces. Some of you may have seen some posts all ready.  The idea is to get their photos out to more people around this world. How can that hurt? So my friend at  http://cobbies69.wordpress.com/ and I had hoped that our readers would also pick up on the idea, and also post the alert information on their own blog, and their readers do the same and on and on.

Can you imagine how many people we can put these children’s faces in front of with such little effort on our part? I have a feeling that what I expected from you all was not fair, when I look back and…

Yes, I am the daughter of a Momma who has Parkinson’s.  I am no different from the Sister of a Parkinson’s brother, or the Wife of a husband who has Parkinson’s or the Husband of a wife that has Parkinson’s.

Our lives are filled with daily care, or hopes that something will change.  It doesn’t.  We have voices and we use them.  But unfortunately our voices are not heard.

Everyday, Cancer, Alzheimer’s, and other Diseases have the privilege of being heard on the radio, and the television, brought into the fore front of the news.  Us?  We are a very large group of people who fight on a day-to-day basis, for some sense of normality, in a Disease that is not normal.

We are the by-standers , we watch what this Disease does to our loved ones, we cannot help them, other than to make them comfortable…
