Gutsy9 is now a week and a day old and he can already fly. He can fly from the floor up to my lap and from my lap up to my shoulder! And if he falls off my shoulder, while I am walking around, he simply uses his little wings for a soft landing.

Life is fine and dandy for the little fellow then 😉
So far!
Clever Gutsy9. I didn’t think a chick could do any flying quite so soon.
Today he can fly even higher!
Just love him.
Me too – he is asleep on my shoulder right now!
Ahhhh. Brings back memories of our Sun Conure.
How gorgeous – a week old…
Love your domestics 🙂 The animals – what a life!
I love it too but we have had a lot of losses due to the rogue foxes.
I await reports of his first transgarden flight with eager anticipation.
He is flying all over the place now – inside the house! Ming is not impressed.
love his name…”Gutsy9″
He now follows me and scampers over to my lap when I call his name – amazing!
He is getting bigger everyday! He seems to be such a wonderful companion. 🙂
He seems to be saving my sanity at the moment!
I am so glad 🙂
That is amazing! I notice his wings are growing in much the same way as the guineas do. Much larger and cape like. What a fun companion. 😉

I actually thought he might be a guinnea chick at first but his legs are too long. He cannot bear to be separated from me for a moment – ha! The feeling is mutual actually.
Soft little creatures do have that effect on us. So soothing. I’m glad you have him, Julie. 🙂
Super cute! How exciting to watch him grow!
I never kept a photographic record of the other birds when they grew from chicks so this is very exciting.
Julie, soon Gutsy will be making trans yard flights, and youwill be so proud. Mama hen that you are. Take care, Bill
I am getting a bit too attached to him. Oh well, that’s okay.
it is truly amazing how quickly those flight feathers develop.
Yes, I am amazed too.
A milestone for Gutsy9! Exciting 🙂 !
I love it!
I’d have never guessed he’d learn to fly so soon! Gutsy is living up to his name. Way to go, little guy!
If he’d been raised by his mother (whoever she is!) by now he’d be flying up into the trees with her to sleep under her wings at night. He seems to think my shoulder is a branch! And my shirt is a wing I guess – so funny!
wow, he is growing so fast!
Yes – he likes mealworms!
He is so cute and I didn’t think he would learn to fly so soon………..
Almost immediately!
I’m glad to hear the little guy is still doing well!
Thriving and demanding!
wish I could fly
me too
me three
Cute little one … only to grow up very quickly! Are you in the southern hemisphere?
So sweet and then suddenly pseudo-adult in the second photo, like a 10 year old driving a car.
