What a great series of photos. It’s these little bits of “private life” that make your bird photos so fascinating.
I just wish I could take better photos to really show this ritual as it pans out – so fascinating to watch from around 6.30-8pm.
How wonderful.
I love watching them climb the tree.
Love it…
Me too.
I know that you will be putting out a book soon!
I need an illustrator!
This is amazing! I did not realise they sleep in trees.
So do the guinnea fowl!
The photographs tell the story very well.
They are so difficult to photograph. I think you would do a much better job if you fancy a trip downunder.
I never realised ground hugging birds like peacocks did this until I started reading your blog. I find it fascinating. I agree with shoreacres on that.
And now they are really good at flying too. They climb a bit, then fly, then climb, then fly, until they get to their mother – amazing!
I can’t believe how they walk up the trunk of the tree like that! What a lovely photo sequence, Julie.
It’s much more entertaining that I thought possible!
Julie, I almost feel like a voyeur watching your birds thru your eyes and pictures. I just didn’t realize I was a pervert LOL LOL. Take care, Bill
Hi, jm. The last three photos were too dark for my old Mac, but I love the first ones. I love peafowl, and owned some when I was out west. 😎
