Lately I have become aware that I am not receiving blog notifications (via email) from bloggers I follow. Is there a WP problem or is it just me?
If I haven’t commented on your blog lately, this is the reason (well, apart from the neglect factor ha!)
I had that problem a couple of months ago, and I had to change them to instant. If they were “instantly,” I didn’t get them at all.
Ah – thanks!
It’s happened to me where I get the email, but they don’t show up in the reader. Go to Forums and submit a complaint. They may be able to fix something.
I’ll suss out the Reader first – thanks Susie.
1pointperspective said I wasn’t coming up in his reader either.
I follow nearly 100 blogs and receive only 20 or so it is weird internet is my excuse. I don’t know if it is WP or not, I just know I have never gotten them all and I checked to get email notifications. God bless

I’m the same!
Think you’re an unlucky one – it happens to some. A complaint is probably a good move.
I just feel bad when I realize someone is still blogging when I thought they were taking a break!
Julie, you are not the only one complaining about this! I had been wondering why my short story was so ignored by so many… Perhaps this is my issue too?
(After all that hard work and editing I didn’t think it stank that bad! 😉 )
I started reading it Lynda and found it too long for my poor concentration levels. It’s a health problem of mine (with FM & CFS), not your writing.
I just can’t read long posts (but I can sometimes write them on my own blog if I break the paragraphs up with photos).
Eventually I had to stop following ‘writing’ blogs last year, and just stick to mainly photo blogs – I can normally follow yours & Julie’s blog easily.
I will go back and check!
I get the WP hiccups once in awhile as well, they eventually pass. 😀
That’s good to know!
It happened to me so I went to the reader and clicked on edit found an awful lot of my notifications change to no notification… don’t ask how that happens…
Weird!
I hadn’t thought to do that, so I have just been to my Reader and found that some of my notifications had changed! Now, hopefully, normal service will be resumed. 🙂 Thanks for posting this.
It’s odd isn’t it!
Not now but once I did… I had to go to Reader Blogs I follow edit and checked and they were turned off somehow and I had to turn them back on ….. Diane
I will check the Reader in next few days.
What a loaded question. Never form a question that can be answered by You are the problem! LOL Come to think of it sometimes I don’t recieve email notification, but I usually catch the blogs on the reader page anyway. Hugs and Stuff

Ha! Looks like the Reader is the key – don’t have time today but will check it out next week.
No problem, look forward to your comments when things sort themselves out.
Ah the intricacies of blogging!
That has happened to me with a couple of blogs I follow.
Yes it’s just a couple for me too.
I’ve experienced a few weird things on WordPress lately too. I hope your issue gets fixed soon.
Me too!
Julie, I don’t get that simple notification I was getting, it seemed to have changed sometime in the last couple weeks, and I believe it is a WordPress change, one I really don’t like at all, but I don’t know who to bitch to LOL. Hang in there. Bill
Probably someone reinventing the wheel again!
I had a big problem with this last year Julie and I can’t remember how it was resolved.
Perhaps, I UNfollowed everyone (after writing down their blog titles – it was a long list), and then REfollowed everyone (preferably using their EMAIL sign-up widget if they had one, as opposed to the ‘Follow’ button at the top of the WordPress screen.
I prefer Email notifications (like you). I get dizzy scrolling through the Reader.
I still suspect I don’t get some email notifications (like lenwilliamscarver) because I follow 80 blogs and only seem to get about 30 regularly. Of course some bloggers, especially professional photographers I follow, only post every 2-3 months anyway.
I don’t think it is a WordPress problem. I think it is something to do with computers and WordPress ‘templates’, otherwise we would all have the same problem, wouldn’t we?
Also, when I REfollowed all those on my list, there were 2-3 which I couldn’t find, as their Blog Title was different to their WordPress website name – I had written down the Blog Title.
I seem to be having less WordPress problems since I bought the Apple Mac – but that might be purely co-incidence.
Don’t think I’ll ever understand computers.
Another of my friends suggested Apple Mac too! Thanks for this help, Vicki.
I just realized the same about you when I saw you in the reader. Wonder what’s going on.
Who knows!
One thing I have noticed lately is that when emails come from those I am not just reader in Reader, often they are coming bundled. So if you look at one and go to delete that notification, it deletes all the notifications of other bloggers bundled with it. I didn’t even notice till this week.
It keeps happening to me as well with some of the blog sites I want to hear from once posted. Oh well, there’s no arguing with technology. With you and your post, we’s bonded-never fear, lol! Have a good weekend to you all.
I have been trying to figure out a happy medium between the Reader and the instant notifications and I’m not sure there is one: I either don’t have time to look in my email or I’m at work like now where the connection is slow and I suppose I shouldn’t be checking the Reader anyway…I try to follow everyone best I can. I know I’m probably missing a lot. 😦
I’ve had the same problem and others have too. I still don’t get some blog notifications even though I’m subscribed. WordPress must have changed so settings a while ago and messed things up.
Life happens. If everything went too smoothly, maybe the cosmos worries we’ll get bored:)
I had where many blogs I follow were unfollowed for me. I’m still not sure if I recaptured everyone. Very frustrating.
