Ming was successful in his audition!

on May 10, 2014

For those who don’t know, Ming has been doing ‘extra’ work over the last couple of weeks but last week he had to properly audition for a more serious role and he got the part! It’s only for a trailer for a film/TV series pitch so it is very early days but of course I am already seeing his name in lights haha! He is the main supporting role in what looks like a political drama comedy and he will play the part of a rather arrogant young up-and-coming politician.

As the rehearsals and filming will take part in Perth (2 hours away), he will be staying with friends and family as he has done for the last couple of weeks. I told him to increase the list of possibilities so that people wouldn’t get sick of him, but he just said, “Mum, who could ever get sick of me?” I decided not to answer that question.

So exciting!

Well, at least if this adds more “drama” to your life – it’s uplifting. Maybe it’s not a “stage” he’s going through. He’s your shining star! 🙂

Congratulations to Ming. I hope this leads to bigger & better parts in the future.

The way you describe him and his antics, I can well imagine he’d make a good actor.

……..and yes, you were quite right to suggest he spread his list of possible accommodation. I had my younger brother to stay for the last two days (and will next weekend on his way home from the airport) and although we have the same taste in some things and he is very generous, he does have a few little habits (like dropping things everywhere and not putting things away, or cleaning up the kitchen after cooking) that make me realise how obsessively tidy & neat I am. Methinks that we would drive each other insane if we lived under the one roof for any length of time. I had to remind him not to leave anything I could trip over (in my small flat), as that’s how I broke my arm/elbow last year (a heater cord I’d put across a different floor space than usual).

I know Ming is great company and loads of fun, but people do like time to themselves on a regular basis, so stays of 2-3 weeks (or more) would require a few mindful considerations of each other’s normal preferences and routine.
