When you are inside the blah balloon
floating above the world,
tossed about by moody winds
you can see everything, EVERYTHING
up, west, down, left, north, right, east, here, south, and, yes, there too!
And in between all of the circumferences, you have
a clear, detailed view
of the whole wide world, but
from the blah balloon, your view is distorted
by plastic
and motion sickness
and fear of falling.
So what do you do?
Do you stay inside your safe, up-in-the-air balloon
dizzy
disorientated
upset and shocked that in the whole wide world
you are absent?
Or do you scream triumphantly,
pierce the wall of the balloon with your un-rude finger,
fall to the ground with a THUMP
stand up,
walk,
smile
EVERYTHING
This is a trick question isn’t it? What do YOU do??? Diane
I was so low, lying on bed reading a crappy book. I got up.
Aren’t you going away for a couple of days?…( I thought you were….) You need to. Diane
“…stand up, walk, smile”
It worked!
Oh, Julie – I hope the blahs pass soon. I like how you are writing poetically. You must know that I would love to give you a smile with some puns. I hope it isn’t shallow or “overblown,” if you get my “drift.” Here’s the one I love. Of course, you’re blah. Aren’t you writing for your “blahg?”
🙂 🙂 🙂

YOU. NAILED. IT. SISTER!
Not sure what happened to me -I just kind of fell down – up again now thanks to you Rhonda.
a line from a children’s poem I remember….
“ashes, ashes, we ALL fall down”
No thanks necessary ever Jules…xoxo
Love it. Had to think about un-rude finger for a moment, but finally got it! Jules, I hope your balloon bursts at exactly the right time! ❤
Diana xo
Burst the balloon and walk off with your lovely smile.
BRILLIANT poem!
sometimes we have to use the rude finger
This is lovely, Julie. Perfectly timed for me to read, and I hope the blahs release you, soon.
YES! That’s exactly what to do!!!!
I hope that the balloon lets you down gently.
Very nice, I liked it
LOVE your poem! Hope you’re out of the blahs soon.
Definitely pierce that sucker! I like the title; it is either identifying that it is in fact a poem that follows, or it is that everything is a poem. Both and! 🙂 Get up, Bambi!
I like this, so true and easy to get blah if if I spend too much time alone.
Beautiful and well said Jules. Love it. 😀 ♥
Wonderful poem, Julie. You inspire me, as always.
Scream triumphantly! Loved the poem and the fact you got up.
