Hello
Okay, so in my previous post, I used the word ‘fluxuation’ instead of the word ‘fluctuation’. The link below proves that I was, indeed, incorrect.
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_definition_of_fluxuation
I just received a phonecall from a friend who alerted me to my spelling error, so I went back to the post and was just about to correct this until I realized that, in fact, ‘fluxuation’ is a much better word because it implies flux which is what I was trying to convey. Yes, I am quite sure now that I intended to use ‘fluxuation’ so I will now ring my friend back and tell her that I was being incredibly clever and that she mustn’t be afraid of neologisms and extraordinarily brilliant metaphorical linguistics.
Actually I did make a spelling error. Whoops!
Lots of love
Fluxy
Tee hee! Your brilliance preceeds your thinking! 🙂 I like fluxuations. Very fluxy. Very true!
Just covering my back – haha!
Very funny (but can you please not use ‘big’ words – my word power is appalling, despite the fact that I can tell/write a story).
And in retirement, I spend half my day looking up how to spell simple words in a dictionary. Tonight I just sent an email with the word ‘right’ instead of ‘write’ in it.
How did I ever get Honours in English at School (I’ll never know).
You are funny!
Some of the best rationalization I’ve read for a while. Linguistic gymnastics–Love it:)
I will have to go now and read the last post… just got back and started at the top instead of the bottom,,, in other words I;ve started with the latest instead of the oldest,,,,
I make up words all the time – that is what you tell people – that you were being creative and are surprised that they did not get it and then question why they are trying to curb your creativity
It reminds me of when I was teaching creative writing and I’d say to a student, “I think this is overwritten – you could be more subtle,” and the student would say, “Oh but I meant to overwrite this bit.” hahahah
ah, yes–we all have our “reasons”
It is what makes your post an original 🙂
I was reading an old book and old english used an x instead of ct with a lot of words…interesting how language changes
Aha!
If you go to online dictionaries and recently published dictionaries, you’ll find they have accepted new spellings of words, just like schools are teaching new words and spellings, and adapting to the speed texting of communication devices. But then again, I’m to that age that I sometimes forget how a more than two-syllable word is spelled. Boy, somebody out there is a spelling whiz!
Haha!
🙂 And now I need to look up “Neologisms!” Thanks for teaching me something today, Julie!

Just Greek for ‘new word’ (I think!!!)
Jmgoyder, Sometimes I just can’t catch up, other times I don’t know what I am chasing. But I enjoy your posts. I too have a blog angel that points out the errors of my ways but unlike you I am not quick witted enough to have such a good response. I am such a terrible speller I wouldn’t noticed my mistake, and spell check doesn’t help when you spell the incorrect word correctly. Thanks for sharing — Bill
Yes I think the word fluxuation suits as well and I know it must be hard and confussing a bit but you will get use to this type of conversation after a while and just go with the flow
See, your instincts never fail. Kudos! 😉
Inner genius, that’s all 🙂
At least you use proper words and not that text language young people are using these days instead of the proper English.
Welcome! Thank you for subscribing to follow my blog. I hope you are encouraged, inspired and enjoy the photos I take of life’s events as seen through the lens of my camera.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
I would have done the same thing. 🙂 And it is flux? right?
Haha!
Very funny. Thanks for checking out my blog. I hope your having a great day. Hugs Paula xxxx
Why should spelling have rules? It’s quite a modern concept.
I just re-read this post, and I’m glad I did. Thanks, Fluxy.
Ha!
Writers invent words all the time. I like this one!!
