The first person to comment on my blog (apart from my mother) was Lynda whose blog, Life in the Farmlet (http://pixilatedtoo.wordpress.com/), has entranced me from the start of my blog journey. She likes geese and so do I and that is how our friendship began.
One of the things I have discovered in following Lynda’s blog is that she is a woman of many talents. For example, she is really crafty (in the literal sense) i.e. her sewing abilities far surpass my own inability to sew a button back on a shirt. She is an artist.
Well, guess what? Lynda has sent me a gift! Here is the post in which she describes it:

This apron is so exquisite, I don’t think I can possibly wear it – I want to frame it! I love it!
Lynda, you absolutely shine. Thank you from the bottom and top of my heart!
It is exquisite!
And unique – I am so fortunate.
oh is that the most gorgeous apron i’ve ever seen?! Cinderella for sure — Enjoy! and thank you Lynda! – Julie wear it!xo
That’s what I keep telling her, Robyn, “Wear it!” π
Definitely, WEAR IT! It is peacocks!!!!! I love it!
But I don’t want to mess it up!
Isn’t Lynda amazing – I am still buzzing!
That is one gorgeous apron. Lucky you!!!
Very lucky!
Wasn’t that nice of her, and isn’t that apron a beauty!
It is gorgeous!
That’s lovely, Julie!
I know – I am feeling very chuffed!
The apron Lynda made is really gorgeous and in some ways far too lovely to actually use, but the greatest gift you could give by return is, to wear it every time you cook and think of the friendship that bought that gift from across the world to you.
I believe in using everything one has, be it an everyday item or the most precious gift. Life is too short to keep things for ‘best’ or ‘once a year’ special occasions. In my life, every day is a gift and every day deserves a reminder of that.
Okay, I am becoming convinced now to wear it – the trouble is I am rather a messy cook!
Julie, it is a lovely apron, and I sent Lynda a note. It is such a lovely gift. Like you if I got something like that, it would be displayed not used. Take care, Bill
So lovely that you sent Lynda a note – she is a gem.
What a nice gift.
Perfect!
Julie, The fun part was sending you pictures of the designs and letting your choose the one you liked, and the best part is seeing you with it!
xo
It was and is terrific fun and I am so grateful Lynda.
It’s lovely …truly a labor of love..Diane
The pictures don’t do it justice.
if it had an ass cover, i’d wear that out in public. gorgeous! makes me think of your peacocks jules. she’s a star!
Yes, Lynda made it with the peacocks in mind. Actually, that is a great idea – to wear it out in public – yes!
That apron is beautiful. I, myself, could not wear without staining it horribly. I am a very messy cook and I’ll confess a messy eater so I wouldn’t wear it to save my clothes. That is just me. Your kitchen reminds me of my parents kitchen when I was a little girl. Your picture put a smile on my face.:)
Perfect kitchen and now a perfect apron!
What a lovely apron! And I love your red stove!
And both with beautiful histories.
You made a beautiful choice, Julie. Matches your lovely blue eyes. The fabric also would have made a summery, wrap-around skirt. Adorable!
Yes, I am so thrilled!
Beautiful. Hey you remember the story of the Traveling Pants??? Well you know, you could start the story of the Traveling Apron. I could be first π We could take pictures of us preparing a meal in your gorgeous apron and send it with a receipt to the next lucky gal. Okay, all kidding aside. It is beautiful just like you and The most talented Lynda.
I thought you were serious about the travelling apron for a sec.!
it is a beautiful apron! Don’t you just love receiving surprise gifts!!!!
I knew about it but it was still a surprise!
hang it up as art
I agree but not sure!
Fun!
Great fun!
It’s very pretty – clever Lynda.
She is!
That apron is so beautiful. You could wear it for best. π
I know – I could!
That’s lovely; and even better because it is hand made. What a nice surprise.
Lynda allowed me to choose fabric and design – the surprise was that Australia post got it to me before the next century!
What a nice surprise! π
Beautiful.
Indeed!
so special and very beautiful — love your “from the bottom and top of my heart”
Lynda is amazing!
stunning … and how lucky are you!
Very!
So beautiful!!! And what a sweet gesture β₯ LOVE the pic! paula
I am so thrilled about it!
π
It’s gorgeous! I love fabric and am a hopeless seamstress so in my world that would be reason enough for me to hang it up. (: What a lovely and thoughtful gift.
I am still in two minds about framing it or wearing it!
Oh my goodness it is so bloody awesome, I love it
Awesome is the perfect description.
Beautiful apron! What a lovely gift. I’d be afraid to wear it too!
Haha!
Love the peacock feathers on it π
That’s what makes it so special.
It does look too beautiful to wear. I think it would make a nice wall hanging right above the sink in that photo!
