I had intended to reply to comments today, and continue re-connecting with bloggers I lost touch with during May, but my computer is doing weird virusy stuff … So I might be out of action for a few days whilst the problem is fixed.

I know this too well – technical problems the story of my life. Will be here … waiting. Don’t stress out about this. *laughing
Stop laughing – haha!
Hope you got your problems sorted by now ????
Visiting friends up to the funeral on Friday, that’s why I haven’t showed my face here on line.
You have my sympathy, Julie.
I remember what you went through.
Good luck with your computer, Jules!
I can certainly identify with that … just had to get a new computer…Diane
Hoping you get it fixed.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
π¦ Ah, the gremlins of our time.
Yes!
Sorry to hear that. My computer is touchy lately too, but I have managed to work around it for awhile. Sooner or later I will have to give it the time it needs to fix it or replace it! Good luck with yours!
Thanks!
UNLIKE … and I really don’t understand those weird computer-gnomes
It might be the update Microsoft did a few weeks ago which caused the problem. My email went funny and I had to open a new email client to get my emails to download.
What is the problem?
It keeps freezing, millions of ads obliterate the screen and everything takes ages – grrr!
You need to run your anti virus software.
Also download anti-spy software such as SpyBot.

I would also clear the cache.
To delete the files in the Temporary Internet Files folder yourself, follow the steps for your version of Windows.
Windows 7 and Windows Vista
Click Start , click Control Panel, click Network and Internet, and then click Internet Options.
Click the General tab, and then click Delete under Browsing history.
Click Delete all, click Yes to confirm that you want to delete this information, and then click OK.
Earlier versions of Windows
Exit Internet Explorer.
Exit any instances of Windows Explorer.
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
On the General tab, click Delete Files under Temporary Internet Files.
In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the Delete all offline content check box.
Click OK two times.
Try these things above and get back to me.
I did this, bit by bit, and some improvement but not quite right yet – thanks so much Jane.
AAaaaargh!!! Crazy annoying. I hate it when I’m IN THE MOOD to get out there in cyberspace & connect, yet can’t.
Hope you are well though, Julie π
I’m fine except so behind with the blog commenting – ha!
Julie, I hope the virusy “thingy” your computer has is quickly resolved. With no harm coming to anything you may have stored in it. Please take care, Bill — looking forward to your return
Yup: sounds familiar. Commiserations, Julie. Take your time π
Good luck, I hope the computer problems disappear quickly! I am so behind with reading and commenting, sending good thoughts your way π
How’s it going with the popups? You didn’t mention if you had Anti-Virus software or not… If you have it, then update it and run it. If you don’t have it, then you really need it. So sorry this happened to you, Julie. I know how frustrating it can be!
Still struggling argh!
Good luck!
My computer seems to be working fine, but I still can’t see my blog’s comments. Also having trouble with the Like button, and having to identify myself each time I make a comment on someone else’s blog. Hey WordPress, this can be fixed soon, right? Hope the rest of your computer issues are resolved shortly.
And I’m having trouble logging on – argh!
Hope it’s better now.
It’s nothing compared to what you are going through xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Doing much better. π
You still out of commission? So quite around here!!! Hope that damn machine is fixed soon!
It’s half working – keeps freezing argh!
I am a PC Tech, update your Virus..
Restart the PC in Safe mode (Hit F8 on startup) and do a full scan in safemode where the Virus wont be running. Hit “Safemode with Networking” so you can go online
ALSO..
Go to start and type msconfig
Just like that, all lover case.
Go to startup (Make sure it is startup)
And intick things you have NO IDEA what they are.
Thinks like Anti-virus you will see, google updater., Java Updater etc..
Look for things with no name or strange names, if in doubt, google it, if it’s the virus, untick it, then do a FULL System clean up. Start, my computer, c:drive, right click, properties, disk clean up, it will take AGES if you never done this before, when the box opens click everything then click, clean, or ok, or apply, whatever it asks.
Then re-boot into windows…
You are good to go, 100 x faster…
I would have charged Β£120 for that π
Hope it works for you..
On my page is my Email in Contacts at the top, any questions, please, feel free to email
Shaun
Good luck
ps: In msconfig > startup > Close things you REALLY don’t need to be starting up. Like Music players etc..You can start things when you need them. This just stops things starting WITH the computer when you turn it on. If you have more than 8 things, you have too much. I have 5 things start with my PC.
Oh Shaun thank you! I will try this advice but I don’t hold much hope of me being able to do all this successfully – ha!
Hmmmm if you had 2 Computers, or a way to get onto Skype (Audio) I could talk you through it?
Dead easy honest, don’t go wasting or giving up on a Laptop.. You would have to be on another device so I could talk you through it..Done it 1,000 times on Skype..free PC help from Shaun π
I WILL SAVE THE DAY..
MWA HA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAA
Sorry I have no idea why I did the evil laugh π¦
That is frustrating!
